Where to Stay
ChI goes there for real down time, and stays in the delightful, family-run Ostria Taverna in Marathounda bay. Seagulls, sand, pine trees, sandy bay and multi-generational Greek families. Clean, simple accommodation, great home-cooked food and good fish. A really relaxed, laid-back atmosphere.

Where to Hang Out
Aegina is a stone’s throw by boat from Athens, and is an uncomplicated island with a few hidden treasures if you want R n R. Door to door, the half-hourly Dolphins can get you there for the day, a few days, or longer.

Further down the coast from Marathounda, in the tiny (but fashionable) fishing village of Perdikka, Miltos fish taverna is a must (in the main drag of them along the water). Trawl the slew of cafes further down the line, to see which takes your fancy for a pre-lunch freddo, a post-lunch coffee, or a sunset drink.
