Recommended boutiques, shops,

• Harvey Nichols in the Mall of the Emirates – (where else…. if you can’t get
to Knightsbridge?)
• While there, check out BBC “Billionaire Boys Club” for the high end luxury
sportswear label launched by Pharrell Williams and Japanese fashion icon
Nigo. www.bbcicecream.com
• Aizone in the Mall of the Emirates, if you are not passing through Beirut soon.
• Etoile in the Mall of the Emirates, in case you left your designer duds behind
and have to party. Also look for the Etro, Cavalli, Tods and Furla outlets.
• Emirates Towers, for Villa Moda, Rodeo Drive, Gucci, YSL, Jimmy Choo and
Azza Fahmy
• Khalil Al Sayegh’s flagship store, on Al Maktoum St, appropriately located
next to Cartier, for jewels. Diamonds (really good ones) are a speciality, but
too is their east-meets-west fusion jewellery, with a touch of Moghal
splendour but western wearability.
If you are a serious buyer, the owners will even send a limo to pick you up! Tel +971 4 227 6555 .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) www.khalilalsayegh.com
• Damas – for up-to-the-minute designer gold jewellery. Outlets in the Gold
Souk, and in the Emirates Towers

• Twisted – for cutting edge “cheap n chic” casual wear and tshirts, and
vintage utility wear. In Times Square Centre Mall www.twistedco.com
• Prose, the second hand bookstore in Jumairah Plaza (“the pink mall”) on the
main Jumeirah Beach Road next to Magrudy’s
• Magrudy’s – the first, the one, the only(?) stationers and book store which
is a treasure trove of goodies. ChI bought a cute little shocking pink filofax
there!
• Mall of the Emirates – because you have to have been there.
• The Gold Souk – ditto. Gold is serious business in this part of the world and
the dazzling souk near the Hyatt Regency bears witness to this. The gold
souk is a truly dazzling sight in all senses, which has earned Dubai a
reputation for being the ‘City of Gold’.
• Bur Juman – the shopping mall where you find everything. Yes ChI knows
that the Mall of the Emirates is trendier now, but Bur Juman is handier for
the airport (if you are between planes) and tends to have more of what
you actually might want to buy. There is also the old favourite, the City
Centre, too.
• Ibn Battuta Mall – Not so much a mall, more of a “shopping destination”,
themed around the travels of renowned 14th century Arabian explorer, Ibn
Battuta ….if you have the stamina. Wear comfortable shoes - true
exploration of its six courts - the Andalusian Court, the North African Court,
the Egyptian Court, the Persian Court, the Indian Court and the Chinese
Court - involves a serious hike. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

• Festival City Mall - a good place to stroll along the waterways that run all
along it, as well as to shop. Located near the Garhoud area.
